Femtosecond Laser Direct Writing of Microcage Structures for Microsphere and Cell Capture Research

The goal of this research is to create a novel microcage structure for microsphere screening and cell capture using femtosecond laser direct writing (Fs-LDW) technology. Microsphere screening and cell capture are essential in life-science research, disease diagnosis, and treatment. Traditional techniques for microsphere screening and cell capture can have certain drawbacks, such as high costs and intricate processes. This study used the ultrashort pulse and high peak power properties of femtosecond lasers to create microcage constructions with adjustable height, diameter, and spacing. The impacts of microcage structural parameters were systematically investigated in connection with the number of microspheres screened and the biological behaviors of fibroblasts. This physical interaction-based screening tool successfully avoids the harm and disruption caused by conventional biological techniques. The study’s findings indicate a broad range of possible uses in the domains of medical diagnosis and biotechnology.
