Pulmonary heart: definition, classification, pathogenesis, diagnostics. Morphologist’s view
The article is devoted to the review of literature on pulmonary hypertension (PH) and pulmonary heart (CH). CH is a change in the structure (hypertrophy and/or dilation) and function of the right ventricle (RV) of the heart, caused by a primary disorder of the respiratory system and pathology of the left sections (postinfarction cardiosclerosis, congenital and acquired heart defects), leading to PH. The classification of PH of the World Health Organization is presented, which identified 5 groups based on etiology and pathophysiology. The article considers the classification of PH, pathogenesis, clinical and pathoanatomical diagnostics. The progression of pulmonary hypertension naturally leads to the development of pulmonary hypertension, the severity of which depends on the duration of the disease and the pressure in the pulmonary artery.
