Optimizing speech recognition and pronunciation correction systems in foreign language teaching using artificial intelligence algorithms

With the deepening of global integration and the continuous improvement of China's internationalization level, the demand for foreign language learning in China is showing explosive growth. Accurate pronunciation is the core foundation of oral communication. However, due to the lack of a real foreign language environment and the excessive emphasis on foreign language reading and writing abilities in traditional teaching, non-native learners' oral abilities are generally at a low level, and effective solutions are urgently needed. In recent years, the rapid development of artificial intelligence (AI) technology has brought significant progress to the field of automatic speech recognition (ASR), greatly improving the accuracy of its recognition results. Based on this background, this article designs and implements an AI based foreign language teaching ASR and pronunciation correction system. This system utilizes deep learning (DL) technology to accurately identify errors in speech and provide targeted correction suggestions through real-time capture and analysis of learners' pronunciation. The results show that the system proposed in this paper exhibits high accuracy in both ASR and pronunciation correction, and has strong practical application value.
