Building a sustainable woody oilseed industry in China: an integrated WSR-DEMATEL-ISM approach from Hebei Province
This study employs the literature review method and the WSR (Wuli-Shili-Renli) methodology to construct an index system of influencing factors for the development of the woody oilseed green industry chain in Hebei Province. The study aims to contribute to national grain and oil security and to embody the principle that ‘lucid waters and lush mountains are invaluable assets. To investigate the internal relationships and mechanisms among key elements, including resources, talents, technologies, and policies, the Decision-Making Trial and Evaluation Laboratory (DEMATEL) and Interpretive Structural Modeling (ISM) methods are applied for quantitative analysis. The findings suggest that the development of the woody oilseed green industry chain should fully leverage local resource endowments, scientifically identify industrial targets, formulate rational industrial plans, and establish collaborative alliances among government, industry, academia, and research institutions. Moreover, effective utilization of policy support is essential. The study summarizes the development experiences of Hebei Province and proposes a replicable development model for the woody oilseed green industry chain. These insights aim to inform the development of China’s national woody oilseed industry and support the rural revitalization strategy, underscoring that ecological preservation is the foundation of enduring prosperity and food security.
