Self‐Supporting Co 3 O 4 Nanosheet Derived From Co 2 (OH) 2 CO 3 for Aldehyde or Ketone Hydrodeoxygenation Reaction

Abstract Hydrodeoxygenation (HDO) is a commonly used pathway to improve the quality of oxygen‐containing compounds. Herein, a novel self‐supporting catalyst, Co 3 O 4 nanosheet, is constructed which can completely hydrodeoxygenate various lignin‐derived aldehyde or ketone into aromatic hydrocarbon under moderate conditions. The study shows that acidic sites facilitate the generation of active H species to hydrogenate the C═O group. Meanwhile, the catalytic activity exhibits a positive correlation with both the total acid density and the Brønsted‐to‐Lewis acid ratio, with a higher proportion of Brønsted acid sites being particularly conducive to HDO reaction. This work provides a new strategy for constructing supported non‐noble metal catalysts for the hydrodeoxygenation of lignin oil into aviation fuels.
