Host Transcriptomic Analysis of Operative Samples From Children With Suspected Osteoarticular Infections
Osteoarticular infections are common in children, but the host response with respect to various pathogens is poorly understood. In a post hoc transcriptome analysis of bone and joint samples from 42 children with osteoarticular infections, subjects with bacterial infections were found to have a distinct pattern of gene expression compared with subjects for whom no pathogen was detected.
