Optimization of MWCNT Modified Nano‐Structured Concrete in Response to Changes in Water Cement Ratio

ABSTRACT Investigating the impact of different Multi‐Walled Carbon Nanotubes (MWCNTs) dosages on the mechanical characteristics of nanostructured concrete for various water cement ratios was the goal of this study. High aspect ratios, nanoscale size, and remarkable tensile strength are characteristics of carbon nanomaterials. Two of the most promising nanomaterials for improving the characteristics of cement concrete are carbon nanotubes (CNT) and carbon nanofibers (CNF). In the present paper, Multi‐Walled Carbon Nano Tubes (MWCNTs) are used in concrete, and their properties, like compressive strength for concrete cubes, split tensile strength for concrete cylinders, and flexural strength for concrete beams, were evaluated mechanically. Based on the findings of the study, composites containing 0.025%, 0.035%, and 0.045% of MWCNT in concrete for water to cement ratios of 0.35, 0.40, and 0.45 were used. Significant improvements in the mechanical characteristic strength of concrete were observed for the optimum dosage of MWCNT.
