Veress Needle Entry: Tips and Tricks for Residents
Abstract Veress needle insertion remains the preferred method of laparoscopic entry technique by most gynecologists all over the world. The purpose of this study is to share some tips and tricks of Veress needle insertion that can be incorporated to suit healthcare training across the globe. The study provides some useful tips for resident doctors that may help in improving the laparoscopic entry technique. There is no completely and universally safe entry technique. Careful preliminary insertion of the fine Veress needle does allow adhesions and bowel to be detected, and once detected, serious injury with a large trocar can be avoided.
