Navigating Research During Residency: Challenges and the Way Forward
Abstract Despite training large numbers of medical residents, research output remains limited due to a lack of awareness, inadequate research skills, weak mentorship, heavy workload, low motivation, limited resources, and the absence of structured programs for research. Drawing on personal experience, this article outlines these barriers and suggests practical measures to spark curiosity, strengthen mentorship, improve access, and cultivate a supportive research culture among trainees.
