Opt-in and opt-out strategies for HIV testing—author's reply

I am grateful to Emila Miró and collegues1 for their important insights relating to approaches to HIV testing and the choice between opt-in and opt-out strategies. Our Review2 focused largely on the differences in the consent requirements that are at the core of country policies for testing and on reduction of barriers to consent to combat late HIV diagnosis.
