Monkeypox in Africa: Future Threat or Manageable Challenge? An Analytical Perspective
In recent decades, Africa has experienced numerous epidemics, such as Ebola, HIV/AIDS, and the COVID-19 pandemic, leading to substantial loss both in human lives and economically. These outbreaks have profoundly affected healthcare systems, highlighting significant challenges in healthcare provision and exposing vulnerabilities in the sector's infrastructure. The severe impact of monkeypox on public health and national economies makes it a significant current health concern. This research explores the central question of whether monkeypox remains a persistent threat or is manageable. It commences with a detailed overview of the disease, covering its varieties, symptoms, and transmission methods. Subsequently, this study analyses the outbreaks in African countries, the global context, and government reactions. Conclusively, the study offers forward-thinking insights and suggestions to fortify monkeypox response tactics and enhance preparedness for forthcoming health hazards.
