Site selection strategy for defrosting distribution transformers based on line thermal effects

This article proposes a location selection strategy for defrosted distribution transformers based on line thermal effects to address the issue of icing in distribution networks. Firstly, the thermal effect of short-circuit melting of distribution lines was analyzed, and a calculation model for short-circuit melting current and melting thermal effect model of 10kV overhead lines were established. The heat transfer process between the conductor and the ice layer during the melting process was discussed in detail. Secondly, a location selection model for ice melting distribution transformers was constructed, with the goal of achieving the comprehensive optimization of construction cost and effective ice melting line length. Particle swarm optimization algorithm was used for location selection solution. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed site selection strategy was verified through simulation analysis using an improved IEEE33 node example system. The results indicate that this strategy can effectively improve the ice melting efficiency and power supply reliability of the distribution network while ensuring economic efficiency, providing strong technical support for the actual distribution network to cope with icing disasters.
