New design of anti-vibration glove and requirements of ISO 10819 standard
Anti-vibration gloves are the most popular and most commonly used means of protection against hand-arm vibrations in the work environment. Since the first version of the ISO 10819 standard was developed in 1996, the requirements for the design of anti-vibration gloves contained therein have not changed to this day. Given the development of manufacturing technology and the possibilities of using new materials, these requirements have become outdated and do not properly fulfill their functions, and in some aspects limit the development of modern glove designs. The authors presented an assessment of the individual standardized requirements in relation to the results of their own long-term research conducted as part of product certification and observations. On this basis, they described their own proposals for changes to the design requirements together with the justification for the purpose of their introduction. An example design of an anti-vibration glove developed taking into account the proposed additional ergonomic and utility features was also presented. The paper also contains the results of tests of the proposed design in accordance with ISO 10819 and the results of the assessment of the presented additional features of anti-vibration gloves.
