Why perceptual attribute instead of perceived affective quality is inappropriate in the ISO 12913 series
It is well known that the Perceived Affective Quality Scale (PAQS) in its current form in ISO/TS 12913-2 is not a scale for perceived affective quality in the correct sense. As the author has already pointed out, there are apparently two ways to correct this problem: (1) change the name of the scale, for example, to "Perceptual Attribute", (2) change the non-affective quality attributes in the PAQS to affective quality attributes. However, the first solution has theoretical problems from a psychological point of view. This study discusses the theoretical problems to advocate why perceptual attribute instead of perceived affective quality is inappropriate in the ISO 12913 series.
