Research on Noise Control Techniques for Highways Adjacent to Residential Areas: A Case Study of a Section of the Guangzhou-Shenzhen Highway
With the acceleration of urbanization, the expansion of urban transportation networks and their proximity to residential areas have led to significant noise issues. Particularly in areas adjacent to residential districts, the impact of noise pollution on the quality of life for residents is not to be overlooked. Taking a specific section of the Guangzhou-Shenzhen Highway as the subject of study, it was found that the on-site measured noise levels exceeded national standards. This paper aims to explore and optimize noise control techniques for highways that connect with residential areas to reduce their negative impact on residents' lives. In response to the inadequacies of existing noise reduction measures, this study utilizes the acoustic simulation software Cadna/A for theoretical research on highway noise reduction techniques and proposes improved solutions. Through on-site measurements and simulation analysis, this research has proposed reasonable design and modification measures to reduce the noise impact of the relevant sections on residential areas to meet the standards. The results of this study not only provide technical support for similar noise control projects but also offer references for urban planning and traffic noise management.
