Development of measurement protocol for high performance acoustic cabin for generator sets.

The accurate assessment of high-performance acoustic enclosures for generator sets presents significant challenges, especially when performing field measurements. This study addresses these difficulties by following the guidelines set out in the standard "ISO 8528-10: Measurement of airborne noise using the envelope surface method". These guidelines were used to develop a measurement protocol to isolate and characterize noise emissions coming exclusively from the acoustic booth. Preliminary evaluations show that the noise levels obtained assess the initially projected values, confirming the effectiveness of the booth design under specific conditions. However, certain limitations persist, such as the proximity of external noise sources, which make measurements difficult and affect the characterization of higher volume sources. The results validate the performance of the acoustic booth and underline the need for additional testing in more controlled environments to evaluate external interference. Future work will focus on improving measurement techniques and extending this study to higher volume sources, ensuring a comprehensive assessment of the capabilities of the acoustic booths in diverse operating scenarios.
