Dynamic Characterization of Unbalanced Loads in Front-Loading Washing Machines
Vibration and noise are key issues in washing machines that affect both customer satisfaction and the long-term reliability of the appliance. These problems are often caused by factors such as unremoved transport bolts, uneven machine leveling, or unbalanced laundry loads-particularly with bulky items like towels or blankets. Such conditions can lead to excessive shaking, loud operation, and even damage to internal components, while also reducing performance. Addressing these issues typically involves redistributing the laundry, adjusting spin speeds, or using smart control algorithms to manage unbalanced loads. In this study, the behavior of washing machines under unbalanced loading conditions was investigated through dynamic simulations using ADAMS View software. By analyzing vibration data and system responses, the study aimed to better understand how unbalanced loads affect machine operation. The results help identify the sources of imbalance and suggest methods for minimizing their impact. These insights can support the development of improved control strategies, ultimately enhancing the satisfaction of their users.
