Impact on the cost of construction to meet the different levels of the proposed acoustic classification standard for buildings in Brazil

The balance between cost and performance is a constant challenge in construction, especially with regard to acoustic comfort in buildings. Controlling sound transmission between environments and mitigating external noise are essential factors in ensuring quality of life and well-being for users. However, the adoption of effective acoustic solutions can represent a significant increase in construction costs, making the search for viable and efficient alternatives essential. This study investigates the relationship between the total cost of construction and the level of acoustic performance of different construction typologies, considering materials, executive techniques and architectural solutions. The research uses case studies and acoustic simulations to assess compliance with technical standards and user expectations. Furthermore, it explores strategies to optimize performance without compromising the financial viability of projects, contributing to decision-making in the design of more efficient and accessible buildings.
