New records of three species of the genus Nipponoelater Kishii (Coleoptera: Elateridae: Elaterini) from India

In this study, Nipponoelater henscheli (Schimmel 2007), Nipponoelater indosinensis (Schimmel and Tarnawski 2010), and Nipponoelater sinensis (Candèze 1882) are documented for the first time from India. N. sinensis has been redescribed, while N. henscheli and N. indosinensis were supplemented with genitalia and diagnostic characteristics along with the illustrations. Also, an updated diagnostic key of genus Nipponoelater from India is presented. • Three species of the genus Nipponoelater are documented from India for the first time. • Redescriptions of the recorded species are provided. • Genitalia and abdominal appendages are illustrated. • An updated checklist of Nipponoelater species from India is included. • A distribution map of Nipponoelater species in India is provided.
