#89 Omentum wrapping of peritoneal dialysis catheter and peritoneal inflammation

Abstract Background and Aims Omental wrapping of peritoneal dialysis catheters is a huge challenge for clinicians and peritoneal dialysis patients, there is a lack of reports on the risk factors associated with peritoneal dialysis omental wrap. Method We retrospectively analyzed a total of 313 PD cases in the Department of Nephrology, Xiaogan Central Hospital from 2010 to 2023, including 160 males and 153 females. Statistical significance of omentum wrap in different gender, whether associated with peritoneal dialysis peritonitis, catheter displacement and pelvic inflammatory disease. Multivariate logistic retrospective analysis was used to analyze the correlation between omental wrapping and women, pelvic inflammatory disease, and peritonitis associated with peritoneal dialysis. Results Compared with patients without pelvic inflammatory disease, omental wrap is more likely to occur in patients with a history of pelvic inflammatory disease, compared with patients without peritonitis, omental wrap is more likely to occur in patients with peritonitis associated with peritoneal dialysis, and the incidence of omentum wrap is higher in patients with catheter displacement. Multivariate regression analysis showed that omentum wrapping was related to pelvic inflammatory disease and peritonitis associated with peritoneal dialysis. Conclusion Omentum wrap is more likely to occur in patients with peritoneal dialysis-associated peritonitis, pelvic inflammatory disease.
