EXPLORING THE CUTTING EDGE OF PLATELET-RICH PLASMA OMICS
Osteoarthritis (OA) is a joint disease with a high prevalence that occurs with a cycle of inflammation, degeneration and regeneration in articular cartilage, subchondral bone and surrounding tissues. Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) provides a promising cell therapeutic candidate, in terms of reducing pain, preventing loss of function and supporting cartilage regeneration, however, its composition and therapeutic efficacy and mechanism of action on OA remain unclear. This talk gives a perspective for PRPs as a cutting-edge approach for diagnosis, prognosis and treatment of OA when their therapeutic window is set in both healthy and osteoarthritic chondrocytes in real-time proliferation analysis, and responsible metabolic pathways participating in cartilage regeneration and cell migration, proliferation and differentiation are revealed by multi-omics.
