Stent-assisted coiling of a ruptured renal artery aneurysm in a third trimester pregnant patient
Renal artery aneurysms can lead to serious complications, particularly during pregnancy. Although the Society of Vascular Surgery recommends immediate treatment of these aneurysms in pregnant individuals, there is no clear consensus on the optimal repair method. Here we present the case of a 29-week pregnant patient with a 5-cm renal artery aneurysm successfully treated with endovascular coiling and stenting. The multidisciplinary team approach ensured successful treatment with optimal outcomes for both mother and baby. This case adds to the growing body of evidence and discussion supporting endovascular repair as a viable option for managing renal artery aneurysms during pregnancy.
