Patterns of Intravaginal Boric Acid and Probiotics Use Among Patients With Chronic Vulvovaginal Symptoms

Boric acid and probiotics are widely used among patients with vulvovaginal conditions requiring tertiary care, almost always with unsupported reasons. Although nearly half of the respondents received treatment recommendations from providers, few reported use aligned with clinical guidelines. Given the significant financial burden and extensive misinformed use, there is a critical need for improved patient education and evidence-based counseling to prevent reliance on ineffective or misleading therapies.
