Divergent Total Synthesis of Pleurotinoid Natural Products
Pleurotinoid natural products have garnered significant attention due to their prominent anticancer and antibacterial activities, as well as their complex structures. Herein, we report a new strategy for the divergent and efficient synthesis of pleurotinoids. The strategy features an intermolecular 1,6-addition/vinylogous Mukaiyama aldol reaction sequence, a rare 4π-electrocyclic ring-opening/vinylogous Michael cascade reaction, diastereoselective Wolff rearrangement ring contraction, facial-selective reduction of terminal allylic alcohols, and late-stage oxidative cyclization.
