On the discovery of dangerous asteroids and single-apparition comets. I

The paper examines the issues of predicting possible collisions with already known asteroids, as well as with comets during their first flyby. The approach to detecting the two types of events differs significantly. The asteroid collision prediction program is being successfully implemented. The development of a system for detecting dangerous comets is at its earliest stage.

Abstract

The paper examines the issues of predicting possible collisions with already known asteroids, as well as with comets during their first flyby. The approach to detecting the two types of events differs significantly. The asteroid collision prediction program is being successfully implemented. The development of a system for detecting dangerous comets is at its earliest stage.
