Determining the radial brightness gradient of globular clusters

In this work, using the well-known chi-square minimization method – which minimizes the squared difference between observed and theoretical brightness – we have determined the corresponding structural parameters for globular clusters (GCs). As our observational data, we used surface brightness profiles constructed from Hubble Space Telescope (HST) observations. One of the structural parameters in our model characterizes the radial brightness gradient, and the associated uncertainties have been calculated.

Abstract

In this work, using the well-known chi-square minimization method – which minimizes the squared difference between observed and theoretical brightness – we have determined the corresponding structural parameters for globular clusters (GCs). As our observational data, we used surface brightness profiles constructed from Hubble Space Telescope (HST) observations. One of the structural parameters in our model characterizes the radial brightness gradient, and the associated uncertainties have been calculated.
