Care at home program study of complex geriatric surgical oncology patients
The utilization of skilled nursing facilities (SNFs) for postoperative care among older surgical patients has become increasingly common [1]. SNFs provide a structured environment with continuous nursing support, rehabilitation services, and medical oversight, offering benefits such as improved wound care, early detection of complications, and structured physical therapy [2]. However, patients in SNFs are at increased risk for hospital readmissions, infections, and functional decline due to prolonged immobilization.
