An intelligent model refinement approach for wide speed range hypersonic vehicle based on mechanism-data fusion
Purpose This study aims to provide an effective approach to mechanism model refinement for the wide speed range hypersonic vehicle considering aero-propulsion coupling characteristics. The analysis of the influence on mechanical data is carried out to reveal the role of environmental parameters in the aero-propulsion coupling mechanism model. Design/methodology/approach The intelligent model refinement method integrates physical information and real flight data with weak sensor dependence, which updates the environmental parameters by comparing the overload obtained from the mechanism model with the real overload. This approach circumvents the need for precise mechanics data of the wide speed range hypersonic vehicles, which are often required but difficult to obtain in traditional model correction methods. Findings The influence on the closed-loop system dynamic performance is analyzed to show the promotion of the intelligent model refinement approach to the integrated aero-propulsion control strategy. At an altitude of 25,000 meters and the Mach range of 6–6.5, the mean absolute error of the key parameters after correction is 95.2% lower than that before correction. Originality/value This method significantly suppresses the biases of the mechanism model within the wide speed range, moreover, the more accurate dynamic characteristic data improves the dynamic performance of the closed-loop system.
