Toward a Model- and Pattern-Based Method for the Engineering and the Maintenance of Digital Twin Systems
The engineering of a Digital Twin System (DTS) and its Maintenance in Operational Conditions (MOC) remain difficult, while remaining in phase with the evolutions of its Physical Twin. In addition, these activities are time-consuming, costly and resources intensive. This article presents and illustrates a method designed to support the engineering or re-engineering of a Digital Twin System. In phase with recent standards, this method combines the principles and processes of Model-Based Systems and Software Engineering (MBSSE), the Digital Twin Capability Periodic Table (DT-CPT) framework and is strongly inspired by a Pattern-Based Systems Engineering (PBSE) approach.
