Faith, funds, and foundations: the legal landscape of charitable and religious trusts in India
Abstract This article explores the interplay of faith, funds and foundations by examining the regulatory landscape surrounding charitable and religious vehicles in India. In doing so, it focuses on governance and funding for public trusts and compares it to alternate vehicles such as societies and Section 8 companies. This article attempts to question the extent of governance imposed on managing public trusts and places reliance on global structures like “foundation” to shape the future of philanthropy.
