Application Research of Zno Micro-Nano Structure Deposited by Potentiostatic Pulse Plated in Latent Fingerprint Visualization

The electrodeposition of zinc oxide (ZnO) micro-nano structure has been investigated by varying the potential and the pulse plated on/off times on three-dimensional, interconnected, and porous flexible carbon nanofiber (CNF) paper substrates. ZnO is a semiconductor with a bandgap of approximately 2.21–2.12[Formula: see text]eV, offering excellent optical, electrical, and chemical stability, and strong photoluminescence. The deposition technology has the advantages of high precision, strong controllability, and adjustable deposition rate, making it suitable for preparing ZnO micro-nano particles (ZnO-Mnp) with specific morphology and structure. Combining multiband light sources, the potential fingerprint display and recognition of ZnO-Mnp on dark wood and aluminum surfaces can clearly display the detailed features of fingerprints under filters, demonstrating good performance. These ZnO-Mnp effectively enhance the visibility of latent fingerprints, improving the contrast and clarity of details such as ridge endings and bifurcations. The results indicate that ZnO-Mnp could markedly enhance forensic fingerprint analysis, facilitating advancements in criminal science and technology.
