One-step calcination synthesis of LaCoO3/g-C3N4 boosts ORR/OER activities
Abstract Following the one-step calcination method, LaCoO3 (LCO) was first mixed with g-C3N4. The Co-O-C coupling bond between the 2 components in the obtained LaCoO3/g-C3N4 catalyst and the change of O2 adsorption mode significantly enhanced the oxygen reduction reaction/oxygen evolution reaction (ORR/OER) activity of the composite material in 0.1 M KOH. LaCoO3/g-C3N4-10 demonstrated a respectable half-wave potential (E1/2 = 0.71V vs. RHE) in ORR, and an overpotential of 630 mV at 10 mA cm−2 in OER.
