Eyring–Powell fluid’s structure via an elliptic duct: Peristalsis analysis under the influence of mass and heat transmission.

The present study provides an analytical interpretation of the peristaltic flow of a non-Newtonian Eyring–Powell fluid in a conduit that has an elliptical cross-section with the mass and heat transmission mechanism. Most of the prior work on Eyring–Powell fluid in peristaltic flows studied the effect of heat and mass transmission inside rectangular, curved, or cylindrical channels, but this study presents a new mathematical model that, for the first time, explains it in an elliptic duct. The mathematical model of the issue is solved analytically in the dimensionless formulation by using the long wavelength estimation and the appropriate transformations. The perturbation technique is used with polynomial solutions to solve it. The accurate calculation and analysis of the temperature, concentration, and velocity distribution of several physical parameters are displayed graphically. Additionally, graphs show how physical characteristics impact frictional force, pressure gradient, pressure rise and instantaneous mechanical efficiency. Temperature, velocity, and concentration profiles seem parabolic and behave axially symmetrically. While concentration can have an inverse effect, it is seen that the velocity and temperature profiles are highest in the core section of the conduit and gradually fall near the channel edges due to an increase in heat absorption values. Additionally, simplified graphs show the dynamics of flow via a conduit that is placed vertically. Near the peristaltic wall of the elliptic channel, the streamlines smooth off, but in the center, they show the flow as a contour. In physiology, engineering, medical research, and industry, the current study has interesting applications. AbstractPurpose – The impact of heat and mass transfer on the peristaltic flow of a non-Newtonian Eyring–Powell fluid within a channel exhibiting an elliptical cross-section is estimated and studied. Methodology – The general solution is obtained using long-wavelength and low Reynolds number assumptions. Importance of the work – The importance of this study lies in the fact that the blood vessel’s cross-section becomes elliptical owing to aging, vascular collapse, or another pathological condition. The pulmonary arteries have an oval cross-section. Practical implications – There are intriguing uses for the current analysis in industry, medical science, engineering, and physiology. Physiology and biomedical benefit greatly from the application of the EyringPowell fluid model to peristalsis which plays a role in the circulation of blood in the heart and lungs pumps.
