ECR Spotlight – Ruvinda de Mel
ECR Spotlight is a series of interviews with early-career authors from a selection of papers published in Journal of Experimental Biology and aims to promote not only the diversity of early-career researchers (ECRs) working in experimental biology but also the huge variety of animals and physiological systems that are essential for the ‘comparative’ approach. Ruvinda de Mel is an author on ‘ Using physiology to unravel the implications of heatwaves for big brown bats (Eptesicus fuscus)’, published in JEB. Ruvinda is a PhD student in the lab of Dr Zenon Czenze at Centre for Behavioural and Physiological Ecology, University of New England, Australia, investigating the physiological underpinnings of the ability of species to adapt to a changing world.
