GRAVIDEZ NA ADOLESCÊNCIA: IMPLICAÇÕES FÍSICAS, PSICOLÓGICAS E SOCIAIS NA SAÚDE E NO DESENVOLVIMENTO DA JOVEM MÃE
Teenage pregnancy is a social and public health phenomenon that affects millions of young people worldwide, representing a multifactorial challenge involving biological, psychological, and social dimensions. This study aims to analyze, through a literature review, the physical, psychological, and social implications of teenage pregnancy, identifying its main risks and repercussions on the development of young mothers. The research was conducted based on scientific sources published between 2015 and 2024, located in databases such as SciELO, LILACS, and PubMed, using descriptors related to “teenage pregnancy,” “mental health,” “gestational complications,” and “social impacts.” The results indicate that early pregnancy is associated with a higher incidence of obstetric complications, such as preeclampsia, premature birth, and low birth weight, in addition to psychological vulnerabilities resulting from emotional immaturity, overload of responsibilities, and social stigma. In the social sphere, teenage pregnancy often leads to school dropout, difficulties entering the job market, and economic dependence, factors that perpetuate the cycle of poverty and exclusion. It is concluded that teenage pregnancy requires an intersectoral and integrated approach, with public policies focused on sexual education, reproductive planning, and psychosocial support, in addition to strengthening primary health care as a strategic space for the prevention, support, and monitoring of pregnant adolescents.
