NEOLIBERALISMO E DESIGUALDADE SOCIAL NA RFEPCT:

Neoliberalism promotes the commodification of social relations. Thus, the importance of investigating the spillovers of this ideology in the field of the Federal Network of Vocational, Scientific and Technological Education (RFEPCT) emerges, aiming at the production of evidence that can corroborate the design of public policies aimed at social transformation. The objective of this paper was to analyze the association between academic performance and socioeconomic characteristics of students in the undergraduate courses of the RFEPCT. The results showed that the reproduction of social inequalities – which is an emerging property of neoliberalism – in the on-site undergraduate courses of the RFEPCT is not statistically significant when analyzing the associations between school dropout and per capita family income or race/color. On the other hand, there is evidence of overcoming the reproduction of social inequality in the association between school dropout and gender.
