O ENSINO MÉDIO INTEGRADO E O EXERCÍCIO DA CIDADANIA:

The article analyzes the conceptions about the concept of Citizenship, explained by educators and high school students from the integrated Technical Course in Management, offered by the Federal Institute of Espírito Santo (Ifes). The analyzes were based on studies in the areas of Work and Education and Sociology Education. A qualitative study was developed, with a case study presentation. The locus of the study was one of the Ifes campuses; teachers and students from that course constituted the research subjects. Interview and semi-structured questionnaire were used as means of data collection. The information obtained was analyzed taking into consideration the assumptions of the content analysis and the guidelines for the triangulation of the data. The results indicate that the conceptions of Citizenship presented by the research subjects are based on the knowledge of rights and duties, a reduced meaning of the term. A more qualified listening also revealed that a great part of the subjects deepened the concept, revealing, therefore, understandings and inferences that signal the importance of citizen education, in dialogue with integral education.
