Impatiens rajibiana (Balsaminaceae): a new species from Arunachal Pradesh, India
Impatiens rajibiana, a new species of Balsaminaceae, is described herewith, along with detailed illustrations, from Western Arunachal Pradesh, India. It is distinguished by its solitary-flowered inflorescence, a long, horn-shaped auricle on the basal lobe of the lateral united petals, and a filiform, down-curved spur of the lower sepal with a bulbous apex. The species is, so far, known only from Arunachal Pradesh and represents a significant addition to the biodiversity of the Eastern Himalayas.
