Clarifying the identity and distribution of Indian Endemics Salacia fruticosa Wall. ex M.A. Lawson and Euonymus serratifolius Bedd. (Celastraceae): Exclusion from the Bangladesh and China
Salacia fruticosa Wall. ex M.A. Lawson and Euonymus serratifolius Bedd. were found to be erroneously reported in the Flora of Bangladesh and China, respectively. Critical examination of herbarium specimens, literature, and field evidence confirms these records as misidentifications. The present study rectifies these errors and confirms the distribution of both species as restricted to India. Following IUCN guidelines, Salacia fruticosa Wall. ex M.A. Lawson and Euonymus serratifolius Bedd. has been assessed as Least Concern.
