Labour Induction for Postdates: A Critical Review – Part 3
Induction of labour (IOL) for postdates pregnancy is an increasingly common birth intervention. In the previous article we discussed the findings of the critical discourse analysis, which showed how current biomedical literature maintains a narrative of postdates induction of labour as ‘safe and necessary’. This framing informs clinicians’ understanding, the information given for decision making, and ultimately which options appear valid and available. In this final article of the series we discuss the implications of such framing in consultation with the literature. Part 1 here, Part 2 here
