Complications in aesthetic surgery. Possibilities for prevention and treatment

Background. The modern stage of medicine development is characterized by creation of special surgery departments that makes sence in concentration of scientific research and the experience of diagnostic treatment and prevention health problems and preparation highly qualified specialists this deparment of medicine. One of the field of medicine is plastic surgery that is specific and has it s own peculiarities where the basis principles came from general surgery and we can observe the rise demand worldwide every year in consumption of aesthetic operations and procedures. Nevertheless considering a specific mindset patients who wants to undergo aesthetic procedures the complications that could take place may need to solve medical and psychological problems. Purpose – to evaluate scientific literature in order to make a review of a prevalence most frequent early postoperative complications in plastic surgery and peculiarities of treatment and prevention. Materials and Methods. Open sourсes of scientific literature were processed (MEDLINE, Pub Med, Scopus, Web of science) for the last 8 years; clinical trails to analyse epidemiology pathogenesis and treatment early postoperative complications in plastic surgery. Results. The date of the most popular resourses worked out worldwide shows that demand in aesthetic procedures and operations are rising in popularity especially in the countreis with high living standarts. But as a matter of fact we have rising rate of complications after performing aesthetic surgery. Most prevalent we can observe inflammatory infiltrates, postoperative wound infections, seroma, peripheral arterial occlusion, skin contraction, skin necrosis, subcutaneous tissue fibrosis, nerve injury, hypertrophic scars. Etiology and pathogenesis of this complications are different, the triggers forcing their development have local common and autoimmune mechanisms that determines various methods prevention and treatment. Conclusions. On the basis of date, presenting in scientific literature we can conclude about significant increase aesthetic operations and procedures during last decades, that may explain rising the frequency of complications. Taking in account special peculiarities and differences plastic aesthetic surgery procedures and operations, scientific research and development new methods of treatment and prevention complications are very actual and essential.
