70 Years of the MAK Commission: Paving the way for healthy workplaces (Part 3): Reliable analysis methods for reliable risk assessment The German research Foundation’s Commission on occupational Chemical substances (MaK Commission) not only handles the classification of occupational substances and the derivation of assessment values. Through its Biomonitoring Working Group, it also ensures the availability of recognized and reliable analytical methods so that biomonitoring, as defined by ArbMedVV, can be used without restriction to determine health risks to employees. The methods used by the Biomonitoring Working Group are based on both high scientific standards and the necessity and suitability for practical occupational health care.
