AI-driven real-time ETL intelligent supervision system for infrastructure

Modern transportation infrastructure supervision confronts challenges such as fragmented data collection, delayed processing, and error-prone manual documentation, causing compliance risks and high rework costs. To tackle this, an integrated Handy-Writing and Handy-Camera system is developed, leveraging real-time ETL and AI-driven automation. Deployed in two highway projects, it innovates through continuous data structuring, dependency-free task scheduling, and dynamic validation. Handy-Writing uses deep neural networks for 98.2% accurate voice-to-text conversion of technical terms, auto-standardizing inputs into compliant reports. Handy-Camera embeds metadata into images and employs lightweight computer vision for classification, reducing manual reconciliation by 73%. The real-time ETL architecture replaces batch processing, with context-aware algorithms flagging anomalies within 500ms. A domain-specific knowledge graph and adaptive storage optimize workflows, while a containerized scheduler enables parallel execution. A self-developed validation framework with 23 rule types ensures cross-modal consistency. Results show daily reporting time reduced from 2.1h to 38min, image errors down 64%, report generation accelerated 92%, rework cut 55%, and compliance scores up 41%. The system transforms data into insights within 15 seconds, with future work exploring blockchain and predictive analytics.
