Nonlinearity-Oriented Optimal Control Design for More-Electric Aircraft Power Systems
With the increase in aircraft power capacity and the application of more-electric technologies, the transient impacts on onboard equipment and systems have become more severe and unpredictable. This paper discusses the impact of nonlinear factors, particularly the inherent mechanical characteristics of Electro-Mechanical Actuator (EMA) loads, on the stability of the 270V bus voltage during their operation. It focuses on the control strategies of bidirectional DC/DC converters with high dynamic response characteristics. A DC-DC sliding mode predictive control law (SMPC) is designed to mitigate chattering phenomena induced by EMA loads and nonlinear factors in the circuit.Simulation results demonstrate that the control method exhibits fast dynamic response, effectively suppresses chattering, reduces the voltage fluctuation range and regulation time of the power bus, and optimizes its transient characteristics. Finally, the approach is validated through hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) simulation.
