Research on Coordinated Scheduling Simulation of the Hydro-Wind-Solar-Pumped Storage System Based on the Mixed Pumped Storage Power Station

With the trend of clean energy development, hydro-wind-solar-pumped storage systems(HWSPS Systems) have emerged to promote the construction of clean energy bases, which can fully leverage the complementary characteristics of different power sources and improve renewable energy consumption. Among them, the coordinated scheduling of the HWSPS System based on the mixed pumped storage power station (MPSPS) is relatively more complex, in terms of power complementary scheduling, and ecological scheduling. In addition, the pumping operation of the MPSPS may produce a hydrodynamic phenomenon called pumping funnel, which affects the accuracy of the scheduling simulation. This study focused on the HWSPS System based on the MPSPS and proposed a scheduling simulation model for the two-reservoirs-three-stations HWSPS System. The model integrated the hydro-wind-solar complementary scheduling for the upper hydropower station (HPS), the wind-solar-pumped storage complementary scheduling for the MPSPS, and the counter-regulation ecological scheduling for the lower reservoir. In addition, this study revealed the hydrodynamic mechanistic responses during the MPSPS operating through numerous numerical simulations, and fitted them into clusters of water level-discharge-storage relationship curves, in order to improve the rationality and accuracy of the scheduling simulation. The scheduling simulation model was applied in Lianghekou two-reservoirs-three-stations HWSPS System and delivered satisfactory performance. This paper represents the first incorporation of hydrodynamic mechanistic responses into scheduling models for the HWSPS System, which provides simulation-based evaluation method and actionable guidance for the future and coordinated scheduling of the HWSPS System.
