A multi-time-scale scheduling strategy for power plants considering carbon capture
Carbon capture technology is used in power plants. Its flexibility and scheduling must be considered. Thus, a multi-time-scale schedule for carbon-capture power plants is presented. Firstly, based on the principle of the flue gas split carbon capture device. A model for carbon capture power plants is established. Secondly, the adjustment range of the power output of the power plant is analyzed. The flexible operation model of carbon capture power plants has been established. Finally, Multi-time-scale scheduling models for carbon-capture plants are set up. It consists of the daily scheduling, intraday scheduling and real-time scheduling stages. An improved IEEE-39 test system validated the models. Flexible carbon-capture scheduling boosts system economy and flexibility. It cuts carbon while raising wind-power absorption. Furthermore, multi-period scheduling further boosts carbon-capture plant flexibility.
