Optimal Selection of Windproof Reinforcement Schemes for Distribution Networks Based on Cost-Reliability Multi-Dimensional Coordination
With the increasing severity of global climate change, coastal distribution networks are frequently exposed to typhoons and other extreme weather events, leading to widespread power outages and infrastructure damage. Reinforcement of distribution networks against wind hazards must not only consider factors such as wind load and structural strength but also strike a balance between economic constraints and system reliability. Traditional reinforcement planning often overlooks the inherent randomness between wind load effects and material resistance, making it difficult to quantitatively assess the trade-off between cost and reliability. To address this challenge, this paper proposes a novel method for the optimal selection of windproof reinforcement schemes for distribution networks, based on a multi-objective optimization framework combined with a three-level structural reliability model. By integrating Monte Carlo simulations and an improved multi-objective particle swarm optimization algorithm, the method enables dynamic trade-off decisions between minimizing total reinforcement costs and reducing the probability of line failure. The proposed approach provides a flexible and data-driven decision support tool that enhances both the economic efficiency and operational resilience of distribution networks under extreme weather conditions. It offers a scientifically grounded solution for reinforcement planning and risk mitigation in coastal power grids, with strong applicability in real-world engineering scenarios.
