Cascade Torque Control of Electric Load Simulator Based On PMSM
A novel cascade control architecture is introduced in this paper, aimed at mitigating surplus torque and accurately tracking servo positions in an electro-loading system (ELS). The system incorporates permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSMs) arranged within a three-loop control configuration. The cascade design employs finite control set model predictive control (FCS-MPC) for the inner current loop, conventional MPC for the middle speed loop, and MPC with disturbance compensation for the outer loop. This PMSM predictive control architecture was evaluated through simulation, where its performance was compared to classical PI controllers commonly used in industrial applications.
