The application of infrared imaging technology in the monitoring of chemical equipment safety
Ensuring safety in the production process within the chemical industry is crucial, where gas leakage poses a significant threat, capable of triggering severe accidents and environmental harm. In recent years, infrared monitoring technology has garnered considerable attention in chemical safety management owing to its high sensitivity and accuracy. This article presents the fundamental principles and advantages of infrared monitoring technology, while elaborating on its application in chemical equipment. To explore the utilization of infrared monitoring technology in chemical safety management, the infrared thermographic maps of the quench tower's surface are analyzed to emphasize its application in the methane chlorination process. It is found that real-time monitoring can be carried out by using the infrared thermal imaging technology to provide early warning and timely handling, which can minimize the risk of accidents.
