LES CONFLITS ENTRE ENSEIGNANTS ET PROMOTEURS D’ECOLES PRIVEES A SEBOUGOU AU MALI

This article looks at conflicts between teachers and promoters of private schools in Sébougou. It looks at the causes, consequences and possible solutions for reducing conflicts between the protagonists of the schools. Our approach is a mixed one, the quantitative data provided by teachers and qualitative data from school promoters and teachers nominated by their colleagues as part of the survey. We believe that these actors can provide us with the information we need. The study reveals that there is a lack of understanding between teachers and private school promoters about pay and improved their living conditions. According to the study, teachers see promoters are refusing to improve and regularize their salaries. On the other hand, the promoters believe that this situation is beyond their control when they feel that the expenses and charges facing the school do not allow them to carry out their wishes. They believe that low tuition fees and non-payment of fees by the parents are factors that prevent wishes from being fulfilled. This study proposes three solutions: the establishment of communication between teachers and school promoters, the involvements of the relevant government departments and raising the awareness of the students’ parents. Key words: Conflicts, teachers, private school promoters, promoters.
